On Saturday, the 2nd of May 2020, Evelyn and I exchanged vows and we are now man and wife. Due to the restrictions in place for mitigating CoVID-19, only our witnessas Ian and Angela, and our celebrant Megan were able to attend. However, I livestreamed the ceremony, and you can watch it now here.
Like many others in this modern world, Evelyn and I met online. We emailed each other back and forth for a month or so. We finally met in person at the Queensland Museum to see the NASA exhibit. I was so worried I was going to talk and talk and bore Evelyn to tears. I was going to go watch the Brisbane Lions after our date, but as we chatted in the cafe I realised that the game had started and I had already missed the first quarter! I felt so comfortable talking with Evelyn, and over the next few months, I realised that I wanted to spend my life with this wonderful lady. I asked Evelyn to marry me in October at Mt Nebo on a misty, rainy day and she made me the happiest man in the world by saying yes. :)
TBD
Of course, once the current restrictions on gatherings and travel are lifted, we would like to have a celebration of our wedding. Details and times will be determined somewhere in the future.
